Erika Kirk and The Revival of Biblical Womanhood
Our society tells women to kneel before culture. Erika Kirk shows us to kneel before Christ instead.
Just eleven days after losing her husband in the most tragic way imaginable, Erika Kirk did the unthinkable. Something most of us would struggle with if we were ever in her position…she forgave the killer.
How can a woman extend such grace in the middle of such devastating pain? A pain that tore her beautiful family apart and stole the father of her children. How can someone show this kind of strength, not with bitterness, but with forgiveness?
At the Young Women’s Leadership Summit (YWLS), I learned firsthand what fuels Erika Kirk: Jesus, her family, and a wholehearted revival of biblical womanhood.
Today, I’d like to shine a light on some of the beautiful things I’ve learned from her. Throughout her speech, I was glued to my notes app because I was learning so much. I remember speaking with my close friend afterwards about how inspired I was by her bold belief.
And as she spoke this week at her husband’s memorial, I was again inspired by her passionate words. So, I decided to examine my notes and share a look into Erika Kirk, a woman we could all draw some inspiration from.
A Time Such as This
Erika reminded us that we were made for this era. God, in His sovereignty and holiness, placed us exactly where we are. He didn’t place us here by accident, but with a purpose. She reminded me that just as Esther’s battle was not fought with swords but with silent obedience, strength doesn’t have to be masculine, loud, or brash.
True strength is gentle, steadfast, and rooted in Christ.
Biblical Womanhood Reimagined
In a culture that tells women to chase paychecks, titles, and applause, Erika calls us back to something far greater: the sacred.
- Motherhood is not a pause, but a launch pad.
- Don’t delay the sacred for the secular.
- Build your family. Build your home. Build a life of holy defiance.
She reminded us that the home is sacred. Our children are sacred. What we are building in our families will not be destroyed when it is built on Christ.
Identity and Worth in Christ
Erika also spoke directly to the heart of so many women today.
- You were never meant to audition for your worth.
- Singleness is not a disease.
- Strength does not come from myself.
Our worth is not found in cultural approval, social media likes, or worldly success. A godly man does not look for a woman who kneels before culture, but for one who kneels before Christ.
God’s Redemption Story
Even in the most broken soil, God writes redemption stories. Just as Rachel, Hannah, and Sarah wrestled with infertility, Erika pointed to how God opens wombs and answers prayers in His perfect timing. And when God is silent, He is not absent.
Holy Defiance in a Loud World
The enemy thrives on distraction. The world doesn’t want women to feel, nurture, or protect what is sacred. But Erika called us to live differently—to echo the gospel with our lives, to refuse conformity, and to protect our homes and children with holy defiance.
We don’t “have to” serve and submit to our husbands; we get to. It is an honor, a gift, and an act of worship to God.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of womanhood and the sacred call You have placed on our lives. Teach us to walk in holy defiance against the lies of culture and to embrace the strength that comes through submission, gentleness, and faith. Help us to guard our homes, raise our children with wisdom, and reflect Your gospel in all we do. Give us the courage to forgive when it feels impossible, and the faith to trust Your timing in every season. May our lives echo Christ, and may the revival of biblical womanhood begin in our hearts today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
The Revival Has Begun
Through her testimony and her teaching, Erika Kirk shows us that biblical womanhood is not outdated—it is being revived. In a world that blurs gender roles, mocks submission, and diminishes the home, Erika stands as a witness that obedience to God is the true source of strength.
Her forgiveness of her husband’s killer is not weakness. It is not denial of grief. It is living proof that Christ is alive in her, giving her a strength the world cannot explain.
And that is the kind of strength this world desperately needs.
