OPINION: How Could Anyone Fear God and Curse Israel?
It is an odd request to be asked why a Christian should love and not hate Israel. It’s sort of like explaining why you love your own friends or your own children.
The Christian’s love for Israel is innate like breathing.
I love Israel and her people because her God is my God.
Her Savior is my Savior.
Her people are my people.
The Christian does not separate himself or herself from the people and the nation through whom the covenant was made because it is through Israel that God redeemed fallen man.
To Israel belongs the birthright. Christians are the (adopted) grafted in children of the Promise.
The one who watches over Israel will never sleep nor slumber. (Psalm 121)
Those who bless Israel will be blessed and those who curse Israel will be cursed. (Genesis 12:3)
How could anyone fear God and curse Israel?
Our Jesus is the rod from the stem of Jesse (Isaiah 11).
We are grafted into this eternal tree of Life because of the Jewish Messiah of Isaiah 53…
The Messiah, beaten unrecognizable as a man, crucified, and willingly suffering in our place that we might know peace with God and inherit eternal life is the consolation of Israel and the light of all nations.
I bless the Lord oh my soul and all that is within me. And I bless Israel and her people.
May God watch over her, keep her, and redeem her.
